Rescue Smokers took 2nd place in whole hog at the Big Pig Jig in Vienna GA. The team effort included Robby & Stephanie Royal and Raymond & Amy Poore along with Patrick Poore, Rocky Stubblefield, Dan Surles, Jeremy Justice and Gary & Dionn Lanton. The team earned the Memphis in May berth to represent the Big Pig Jig on the pass down from Grand Champion Jack’s Old South.

Tennille Grand Champions Holy Smokes
Gary & Dionn Lanton of Holy Smokes took first place in Pulled Pork then had the final walk of the day as they claimed the Grand Championship at the Tennille BBQ Blast. Holy Smokers continued their hot streak by making finals in both pulled pork and ribs to capture the Reserve Grand Championship. Sunset Smokers were perfect in the pork loin preliminaries with 600 score. Their final box was tops as well as they took first place in Pork Loin. First place in Ribs went to Ivey Rack & Q.

Grand Champion Holy Smokers
Two weeks ago in Sumner, Holy Smokers made finals for the first time. What did they do for an encore? They captured the Grand Championship at the Fall Line BBQ Contest in Gordon GA with a near perfect score of 599.7 in Pork Loin. Sunset Smokers won the Reserved Grand Championship with a first place in Pulled Pork, second place in Pork Loin and fourth place in Ribs for the highest overall cumulative score in the preliminary rounds. Five O’Clock Somewhere took first place in Ribs.

Grand Champion – D.W.’s Kountry CookersD.W.’s Kountry Cookers of Marshallville, GA captured the Grand Championship at the Sumner Egg Festival BBQ Bash with a perfect score of 600 in the Ribs Finals. Jack’s New South, Michael Mixon & Andy Speight of Unadilla won the Pulled Pork event and claimed Reserve Grand Champion. Sunset Smokers, Travis & Montae Webb of Moultrie, finaled in all three categories and took first place honors in Pork Loin.
